What is pet aquamation?
Aquamation is an emerging form of body care that is gentler to the environment. It is also called alkaline hydrolysis, water-based cremation, bio-cremation, green cremation, and flame-less cremation. It has been around for decades and is used in the human world as well. As communities learn about this option and its benefits, many will join the revolution to offer a more sustainable, eco-friendly alternative.
How does it work?
Our Bio-Response Pet-400 system system uses alkaline hydrolysis to accelerate what takes place in natural decomposition in the soil. A combination of gentle water Aquamation uses alkaline hydrolysis to accelerate what takes place in natural decomposition in the soil. A combination of gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity accelerates the natural passing of time. At the end of the process, the body has been returned to its natural form in water. Similar to cremation, the only solid remains are the mineral ash of the bones. The ash is a light sage color because it retains more minerals, is clean, and without carbon discoloration. Because the bone and ash needs to go through drying time, a day or two more is needed before ashes can be returned to families. Aquamation generates a sterile, EPA-neutral-liquid solution of amino acids, peptides, sugars, and soap that is suitable for release onto the earth.
Private and communal services are both available using aquamation. Private aquamation means that your pet’s ashes will be returned to you. Private chambers reside within the machine, providing a complete barrier among individual pets. Identification tags are assigned to each pet upon arrival to our facility, and an organized tracking system is used to ensure each pet is returned safely to the family. A communal aquamation means the ashes will not be returned to the family; rather, they will be scattered onto Dr. Cornelius’ property in Cypress, TX, where they will become part of a memorial garden.
